Caravaggio v Bacon: Borghese Gallery, Rome

Imagine one of the greatest artists from the Italian seicento placed in the same space with one of the greatest British artists from the 20th century. Both controversial and scandalous, Michelangelo Caravaggio and Francis Bacon are featured in one of the exhibitions that is part of the Italian program Ten great exhibitions in ten years.

Caravaggio-Bacon explores their style and gestures within their artworks Rather than just showing the influence of Caravaggio on Bacon, it analyses the impact of each artist in their times as well as their influences and questionings. Unfortunately the exhibition closes on January 20th, but if you happen to be in Rome do not miss this unique opportunity.

The Galleria Borghese is located in Piazzale Scipione Borghese, Rome. For more information, visit www.galleriaborghese.it
